Allegro passenger numbers up 13% in July
In July 2019, Allegro high-speed trains carried 56,700 passengers between St. Petersburg and Helsinki, an increase of 13.3% compared to July 2018. In the seven months of 2019 from January to July, Allegro trains were used by a total of 316,300 passengers, 16.6% more than during the same period last year.
Since the launch of the international high-speed service between St. Petersburg and Helsinki on 12 December 2010, 3.6 million people have been transported by Allegro trains.
Flexible fares and marketing initiatives and the appointment of special dual trains with twice the usual number of carriages on days of increased demand etc. have contributed to the constantly increasing attractiveness of Allegro trains to passengers.
In addition, since 4 October 2018, tickets for Allegro high-speed trains can be bought 90 days before the train departure.
Passengers can obtain detailed information about Allegro timetables and fares, as well as book tickets, at railway ticket offices, online on the official website of the Russian Railways and using the mobile app RZD Passengers.
When selling tickets, payments are made in roubles at the rate set by the Central Bank of Russia on the day of the registration of travel documents.
