Sapsan passengers up 7.4% in 1H2019

In June 2019, 537,000 passengers travelled on the high-speed Sapsan trains, 2.3% more than in June last year, with 490,000 people journeying between Moscow and St. Petersburg.

In the first half of 2019, Sapsan trains carried a total of 2.75 million passengers, 7.4% more than the number transported during the same period last year. Sapsan passenger numbers between Moscow and St. Petersburg during this period amounted to 2.48 million.

Since the Sapsan trains were launched, they have carried 36.2 million passengers in all, including 5.5 million in 2018, 7% more than in 2017.

Sapsan services currently run between Moscow and St. Petersburg and Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod.
