Over 26,000 passengers carried on international trains Nos. 13/14 Strizh Moscow-Berlin in first year

The international trains Nos. 13/14 Strizh Moscow-Berlin were launched one year ago.

In the first year of operations, the trains made more than 100 runs and carried over 26,000 passengers.

The Strizh service runs twice a week, departing from Moscow on Fridays and Sundays and from Berlin on Saturdays and Mondays.

The Russia - Germany service is popular with passengers using long-distance trains: during January-November 2017, passenger traffic on this route increased by 17.9%.

Each train includes 20 wagons produced by the Spanish company Patentes Talgo, S.L.

All the trains are equipped with a system which automatically changes the width of wheel sets. This technology makes for a considerable reduction in the time taken to switch from the broad Russian railway gauge of 1520 mm to the narrower European gauge of 1435 mm at Brest station in Belorussia.

The introduction of technical innovations in the train’s design has made it possible to increase passenger comfort en route way, in particular, by reducing the effect of centrifugal force on passengers when the train takes tight curves.

The Strizh train offers passengers Wi-Fi-access to a multimedia portal and the Internet. The portal shows the train timetable, the menu in the dining car, passenger news and information on the route and buying train tickets, as well as offering films.
