RZD Holding exports modern high-speed technology to Serbia
Alexander Misharin, First Deputy Managing Director of OJSC Russian Railways, has paid a working visit to Serbia.
During his time there, he met with Zorana Mihajlovich, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia.
The two parties discussed the progress of construction and reconstruction work on the Stara Pazova - Novi Sad section and promising new projects, including the joint servicing of Serbia’s railway infrastructure, continuing the reconstruction of the Belgrade - Bar line and the project to create a Unified Train Control Centre.
The improvement of train management processes is one of the important aspects in the modernisation of Serbia’s railways. In August 2018, representatives from the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure and the company Infrastructure of Serbian Railways became acquainted with the work of the traffic control centres at Russian Railways in Moscow, Yaroslavl and Rostov-on-Don.
The creation of such a Unified Dispatch Centre in Serbia will ensure the introduction of new technologies to manage the transportation process and enable constant monitoring of train traffic and, as a result, increase the capacity of the railway line, optimize operating costs and improve traffic safety.
During his time in Serbia, Alexander Misharin also visited the construction site of the Russian Railways holding on the Stara Pazova - Novi Sad section of the Belgrade-Budapest line, where the Company is carrying work involving the erection of railway facilities which are unique in Serbia, namely the Chortanovci tunnel and the viaduct on the Danube flood plain. Also being reconstructed there is the existing two-track railway line designed to handle trains speeds of 200 kph.
