Passenger numbers on Sapsan trains between Moscow and St. Petersburg increased by 9% in January-July 2018

In January-July of 2018, 3.1 million passengers travelled on the high-speed Sapsan trains running between Moscow and St. Petersburg, 9.2% more than in the same period last year.

In July 2018, Sapsan trains carried 545,500 passengers, an increase of 3% on July 2017.

In total, more than 31.1 million passengers have travelled on these high-speed Sapsan trains since their launch, including 5.1 million passengers in 2017, 6% more than in 2016.

The positive growth in passenger numbers on the Sapsans is due to their attractive and convenient conditions, including timetable, travel time and comfort, as well as a flexible pricing policy.

Up to 15 pairs of Sapsan trains now run between Russia’s two capitals daily and carry an average of more than 15,000 passengers a day.
