Passengers on RZD holding’s long-distance trains have bought about 65 000 Official
Licensed Products of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™
About 65 000 Official Licensed Products of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™
have been purchased by Russian Railways passengers in long-distance trains, as well
as in the additional free ride trains for fans, including high-speed trains “Sapsan”.
Passengers on trains operated by the Federal Passenger Company, a subsidiary of
the RZD Holding, most often purchase candies with 2018 FIFA World Cup™ emblem
for example, gift sets which include the Official Mascot plush toys. At present, more
than 20 000 units of products have been purchased.
To remember their time at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, which is taking
place in 11 Russian cities, fans and passengers also purchase pins (more than 3000),
key rings (more than 3000), silicone bracelets (more than 2000), magnets (about 2000),
and stickers (about 500). Various football items are also popular, for example, 2018
FIFA World Cup™ scarves (about 100), cupholders (about 100), clappers (about
1300), and toys (about 1500 of different types).
The 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Official Licensed Products went on sale in
trains back in April 2018. Passengers were given a choice of 30 items. Most of them
are for everyday use, for example, mugs, plates, and baseball caps, i.e., not just
souvenirs to sit on a shelf and collect dust.
A full list of licensed products can be found in the price list in each car, as
well as by contacting the conductor. They can be bought right on the train by either
cash or credit card, so foreign visitors don’t have to worry about converting
their currency into Russian rubles.
The railway is successfully carrying out its task of transporting fans and guests
of the FIFA World Cup™. More than 287 000 people have traveled the additional
train trips organized specifically for fans. In total, during the games in Russia,
over 448 000 fans will be transported between Host Cities. This includes 734 free
ride trains, 661 of which have already taken fans to the main football arenas in the
11 Host Cities.
