Passenger numbers on Allegro trains increase by 30% in 1H 2017


In January-June 2017, Allegro high-speed trains running between St. Petersburg and Helsinki carried 229,800 passengers, 30% more than in the first half of 2016.

In June 2017, Allegro trains transported 46,500 passengers, 21.1% more than in June 2016.

In total, since the launch of the international high-speed Allegro service between St. Petersburg and Helsinki on 12 December 2010, a total of 2.53 million passengers have been transported.

Allegro trains are becoming increasingly attractive to passengers due to flexible tariffs, marketing initiatives, shorter travel time and additional services.

At the moment, four pairs of Allegro trains run between St. Petersburg and Helsinki every day.

Allegro high-speed trains account for 86% of the total volume of transportation between Russian and Finnish message.

Railway passenger traffic between Russia and Finland comprises more than 70% of the total volume of passenger traffic with countries in the "far abroad" and is provided by the Allegro services between St. Petersburg and Helsinki and the Leo Tolstoy running between Moscow and Helsinki.
