Russian Railways' network transported 76.1 million passengers in January 2017
According to the latest information, in January 2017 the infrastructure owned and
operated by Russian Railways' transported 76.1 million passengers from all carriers,
10.4% more than in January 2016.
Suburban passenger numbers rose 12% to 68.5 million, while long-distance passengers
amounted to 7.6 million, a decline of 2%.
Passenger turnover in January 2017 amounted to 8.9 billion passenger-kilometrуs,
an increase of 2.3% compared to January 2016.
Long-distance passenger turnover was 6.7 billion passenger-km in January, up 1.7%,
while passenger turnover on suburban services amounted to 2.1 billion passenger-km,
an increase of 3.9%.
